Support Students by Supporting Their Families

At Catapult Learning, we know the importance of forming strong partnerships to help students succeed. That’s why we created Family Connections™, a unique program that helps bridge the family-school relationship gap and strengthens parents’ ability to support their children’s education.

For Parents

Family Connections combines education, counseling, and resource advocacy services to give parents and guardians the tools they need to get involved and become constructive supporters of their children’s learning.

  • Workshops help parents promote at-home learning and better understand how to increase their involvement in the school community
  • Short-term counseling and consultation helps families address obstacles to their child’s school success
  • Advocacy and referral services connect families to needed community resources

For Educators

Family Connections includes consultation as well as professional development and coordination services to help school administrators, teachers, and other staff members align with parents to support learning. The result? Better relationships with parents and more time to focus on your students’ academic achievement and the development of your staff.

  • Workshops and seminars teach strategies for working constructively with parents and other family members
  • Highly trained staff members work with principals or other designees to seamlessly coordinate family services with other school programs

Staff

Each Family Connections program is managed by a Program Supervisor. The Supervisor is an experienced, Master’s-level professional, responsible for the overall success of the program and management of the program team, which includes:

  • School Community Liaison (SCL) – Organizes programming and coordinates scheduling. The SCL is typically a trained counselor or licensed social worker
  • Parent Partner – A member of your community who plays a critical role helping to engage families in the program
  • Presenters – Content experts and engaging facilitators specifically trained to deliver workshops to families and school faculty

Eligibility

Supports families of eligible students in grades K-12 who are referred by school administrative staff.

Schedule

Designed for flexibility, services are aligned to fit with parents’ schedules. Parent meetings can occur before, after, or during school hours at mutually convenient locations.
